A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Trailers | View Comments

Hey folks,

In case you didn’t know already, producer Michael Bay is rebooting the Freddy franchise and so I thought I would provide you with the new trailer for the upcoming film. I’ll admit that I haven’t watched many of the Freddy movies but I can honestly say that I’m happy with the casting of Freddy. He is being played by Jackie Earle Haley, Rorschach from The Watchmen, and judging from the the photo he looks pretty good. You can read more about A Nightmare on Elm Street and check out the trailer after the jump.

Zombieland is Awesome! (Review)

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Movie Reviews, Trailers | View Comments

Zombies, Comedy, Kills of the Week, and More Comedy, these are the words that describe one of the most enjoyable films of the year. There are not many films that you can say are really fun to watch the entire way through, but I have found one that has completed this difficult task and it’s called Zombieland, staring Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers, No Country for Old Men) and Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland, The Village). This 88 minute feature is straight to the point, making sure every minute counts and wasting none of your precious time with dragged out scenes.

‘Paranormal Activity’ Has Reignited Horror

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Movie Reviews, Trailers | View Comments

Let’s just say sleeping is not an option.  I could feel the BBQ chicken wings slowly rising up in my throat from anxiety and terror.  Never has a yell of mine been so loud during a movie than during the final 5 minutes of this thrilling adventure.  As loud as it was, it was nothing compared to the other screams and shrills of the audience members.  I felt as if I couldn’t brceathe, my heart felt like it literally stopped, I was short of breath and couldn’t find the extra oxygen to take in even after the movie ended.  Paranormal Activity is the scariest movie of recent years, and perhaps of the millenium, because it’s so realistic and the possibility that it could happen to you.

‘Bronson’ is a beastly English legend (2009)

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Movie Reviews | View Comments

Bronson, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (unknown to me), is about the most notorious and violent prisoner of England, a legend by the name of Bronson.   Known as “his majesty’s most expensive prisoner,” Bronson is a man who has spent most of his life in solitary confinement.  This movie tells the story of a criminal of the likes I have never heard of.  He has a thirst for blood and a passion for beating the shit out of the English prison system.  Some may call him insane, which may be true in some respects, yet I have rarely seen one man later up his body with Vaseline so as to kick prison guard ass for fun.  Check out more of this review after the jump. ‘Wasabi’ has an interesting taste

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Movie Reviews | View Comments

It would be easy for me to not write a review and let you read the following line but I feel gracious tonight and so I’ll give you a little more than the following quote. Someone on IMDB said it best: this is “Quite Possibly the Greatest French-Language, English-Subtitled, Japanese Action-Comedy of All Time.” End of story!

Wasabi (2001) is what I would call one of those random ass movies that happen to go under the radar even with a huge star attached to it. Call me naïve, but I don’t know any normal person that has ever Read more »

Beautiful Trailer for “Confucius”

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Trailers | View Comments

Starring the great Chow Yun Fat, comes this story about one of the most revered philosophers of all time, Confucius. The film is directed by the relatively unknown Mei Hu but so far, by the looks of it, he is putting his $20 million budget to good use. Judging by the trailer, Confucius is going to be a visual spectacle on the big screen due its vivid visuals, colors, and acting. The trailer has no dialogue but gives you a great feel for what the story is going to be about while backed by a soothing instrumental.

Boondock Saints 2- All Saints Day Trailer

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Trailers | View Comments

Holy Irish meatballs! Since Comi-Con I have been waiting for this trailer to be released and the time has arrived. The red band trailer for Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day directed by Troy Duffy is out and looks more intense and action packed than the first. It just may be as cool as the first and after 10 years of patience our day of reckoning has arrived…and I can’t bloody wait. The movie is being released on October 30th with your favorite cast from the original (minus Dafoe).

Ong Bak 2 – awesome muay thai trailer

| by Alex DiGiovanna | Trailers | View Comments

This is more of a reminder than anything but I had to write Ong Bak 2 because Tony Jaa is a beast among men. I tell everyone to see his films because of the intensity he brings to the screen. While he did manage to disappear from the film during production, Tony Jaa eventually finished making the movie and I have to say, it looks pretty cool. Although there is absolutely no relationship or ties to the first Ong Bak, this one still looks like it’s going to offer some amazing fight scenes that only a man like himself can deliver.
