Its Kind Of A Funny Story Poster header Review: Its Kind of a Funny Story
While I’d love for you all to check out the review, I think you should drop everything and go check out this innocent and enjoyable new comedy entitled It’s Kind of a Funny Story. The new independent comedy starring Zach Galifianakis, Keir Gilchrist or who I like to call, young Justin Long, Jim Gaffigan, Emma Roberts, and Lauren Graham is a film based off of Ned Vizzini’s novel of the same name.

It’s Kind of a Funny Story, both written and directed by Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson), is a dramedy that feels both fresh and original in a time where films seem to only derive their humor from crude jokes and gags where as this flick get’s it from its supporting cast and a witty script. The film follows a 16 year old teenager who decides to check himself into an adult psychiatric ward. Check out the rest of the review along with the trailer after the jump.

I actually just saw the film tonight & really liked it. It touched on some serious stuff in a refreshing way. Zach Galifianakis was really funny & moving, I thought. I was pleasantly surprised by the budding imagination that emerged as a result of Craig’s troubles. It was pretty inspiring for someone like me who is always looking for a creative outlet to deal with stress & emotional issues, since I was a teenager too. Just wanted to add my input to such a good film & proper review for it! Good job!
