The new film Morning Glory, starring Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton, and Harrison Ford is advertised with a series of posters with McAdams sipping a cup of coffee, Keaton flashing a very charming smile, and an amused Ford with glasses, as the words: “What’s the story? Morning Glory,” is spread across their images. Several stills from the film have recently been released, adding to the hype of this very intriguing casting combination. You can check out these stills after the jump.

Synopsis:

When hard–working TV producer Becky Fuller (McAdams) is fired from a local news program, her career begins to look as bleak as her hapless love life. Stumbling into a job at “Daybreak” (the last–place national morning news show), Becky decides to revitalize the show by bringing on legendary TV anchor Mike Pomeroy (Ford). Unfortunately, Pomeroy refuses to cover morning show staples like celebrity gossip, weather, fashion and crafts – let alone work with his new co–host, Colleen Peck (Keaton), a former beauty queen and longtime morning show personality who is more than happy covering morning “news.” As Mike and Colleen clash, first behind the scenes and then on the air, Becky’s blossoming love affair with fellow producer, Adam Bennett (Wilson) begins to unravel – and soon Becky is struggling to save her relationship, her reputation, her job and ultimately, the show itself.

The famed darling from The Notebook plays Becky Fuller, joining the Academy Award winning Keaton (Annie Hall, Something‘s Gotta Give) as Colleen Peck, Academy Award nominated and screen icon Ford (The Fugitive, Air Force One) as Mike Pomeroy, the Golden Globe nominated Patrick Wilson (The Watchmen, Lakeview Terrace) as Adam Bennett, the obvious love interest, and Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) as Jerry Barnes, Becky’s boss. Also with small, but surely memorable roles are funny man John Pankow (Mad About You), comedienne Arden Myrin (MADtv, Chelsea Lately), Emmy nominee Ty Burrell (Modern Family), and rapper 50 Cent (Get Rich or Die Tryin’).

Written by The Devil Wears Prada scribe Aline Brosh McKenna (27 Dresses), McAdams plays a very Anne Hathaway-like struggling dreamer who takes a giant leap to turn around the low-rated Daybreak, while Keaton, a former pageant queen who likes fluff pieces as opposed to hard-hitting news, and Ford, a seasoned and serious anchorman, bicker it out. As per FilmJournal.com, director Roger Michell (Notting Hill) expressed, “From the two conflicting schools of thought clanging together comes a comedy that is both authentic and thought-filled.”

The trailer for the film originally came out in May, and I know I saw it during the second weekend of the Eat, Pray, Love release, but the actual film has been left un-marketed until now. Set for a November premiere, I can’t help but recall the 1995 Oasis album of the same name (a highly-recommended personal favorite). Check out the images and trailer! Let us know what you think!
