Broken Lizard’s next films won’t be ‘Super Troopers 2′ or ‘Potfest’, but Olivia Munn will be involved

broken lizard logo Broken Lizards next films wont be Super Troopers 2 or Potfest, but Olivia Munn will be involvedA while ago, the comedy team Broken Lizard posted a poll on their website letting fans vote for what their next movie would be. As it currently stands, Super Troopers 2 has about 45% of the votes, while Potfest has 32% and An Original film, coming in third  with 17%. Well it seems like regardless of what the fans want, Broken Lizard actually has 2 films currently in the works and neither of them are what the fans wanted.

Casting news came out today from Variety that Olivia Munn will have a role in both of Broken Lizards movies with one being the lead female role. This isn’t a new area for Munn since she has already stared in one of Broken Lizards films, The Slammin’ Salmon.

The first film is called Freeloaders and is a comedy about a bunch of guys who live in a musicians mansion for free, only to find out the mansion is being sold. The film is in post-production right now and looks like it will be a direct to DVD film. They have been working on this project for about three years now, so hopefully it will come out soon.

The second film is called Babymakers and Olivia would play the lead female role. Not much is known about this project besides the logline which describes the film as being about a man failing to get his wife pregnant, who then convinces his friend to steal his sperm from a sperm bank that he provided years ago.

Neither one of these films have an actual release date yet, however, I find it very strange that they would keep putting off Super Troopers 2 and/or Potfest. There have been a few rumors going around that Potfest was a joke and they have no intention of doing the film. I’m not sure why they would have put that at the end of Beerfest if they weren’t actually thinking about doing it. Only time will tell, I just really hope these films aren’t as bad as The Slammin’ Salmon.

    Here’s the thing…those two movies were already planned and Broken Lizard polled the fans for which movie to produce next.  This should be great news to fans.  I think too many people think are under the impression that Potfest has been pushed aside, when it hasn’t.  It’s just that Baby Makers and Freeloaders was already planned and a done deal.  THERE WILL BE A POTFEST AND ST2.  I mean, THERE BETTER FUCKING BE.

    Don’t get me wrong super troopers kicked ass!! It was funny as hell! But then again so was beerfest! I think potfest would be a combination of both these movies and would totally f*% ing rule!! This would go down in history as a stoner comedy classic! Just look how well pineapple express done! I here they are making a sequal to that too by the way! I want both these films to get made but hope they do potfest first!

    Anything would be better than that salmon flick! sorry guys but it sucked balls.
