‘The Lone Ranger’ will be the Final Movie before the World Ends in 2012

“Whoa Kemo Sabe!” Disney has finally set a holiday release date for its next big picture, The Lone Ranger. The film is directed by Gore Verbinski, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and stars Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp as Tonto.  It is set to hit the big screen on December 21, 2012 which is just in time before the end of the world ehh, I mean Christmas, maybe!

Deadline just announced the news of the release date as well as a look at the line up already set for December 2012. On the 14th- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journeywill be released followed by Ang Lee’s Life of Pi,  Hunter Killer and the new Judd Apatow film on the .

I really don’t see the other films standing much of a chance against the film besides Hobbit, which will probably dominate the month regardless. Depp will be reuniting with Verbinski for their fifth film together, so this should be a simple shoot for both.
