I have nothing but good things to say about tony jaa, hes like the new era unrecognized Bruce Lee, Theres a scene in Ong Bak when he kicked out a street lamp like was 10 feet above him made me an instant fan.

You know, everyone panned Ong Bak. I guess I didn’t go and see it for the martial arts alone, and I loved the fantasy element of the story, as well as the more poignant scenes. Don’t get me wrong, because I love to watch Jaa’s form. It’s amazing to say the least, but I liked the philosophy aspect and it gave me something to think about. Guess I’m just sappy, but I liked those films enough to buy them. To each his own I guess.

i own ong bak, ong bak 2, ong bak 3, and the protector all in blue ray, tony practiced the moves that Jackie Chan has; i practice every other day on martial arts thanks and compliments to tony jaa, mauy tai is now my first martial art, mauy boran is second; i have yet to master flips, and leg spreading, but what i have watched and practiced, is a very awesome skill to have, i would rather know, not need it, rather than need it, not know it; i have actually used it once after work after hours of the night, i tried to avoid the fight, but i was forced to bock a punch in which i instinctively countered and through the guy off balance, im glad i watched the knife scene in ong bak 2, that came in handy as-well, i hate fighting, but for a sturdy and well practiced art of fighting, it is a good defense. i would like to learn more from a personal professional, but i know none, nor have the money, so to practice this awesome Thailand martial art for free from 4 great movies is good for me, i am currently teaching it to one individual whom is a black belt tae-kwon-doe martial artist/prior military, i am also learning ip man’s and bruce lee’s wing chun martial arts, thanks and compliments to donnie yen’s portrayal of IP MAN, IP MAN 2, a little tai chi, and pencak silat, an Indonesian martial art, thanks to the movie MERANTAU and IKU UWAIS; IP MAN, Bruce Lee (even tho u are deceased) thank u for wing chun, IKO UWAIS thank u for silat, Panna Rittikrai and Tony Jaa! thank u for Mauy Tai and Mauy Baron, because of u all, i can defend my self, and others around me, and teach what i know and learn to those of good will. i do hope Tony Jaa does reprise his role in The Protector 2, i would love to see Jeeja Yanin in it as well, it would be epic to see Tony Jaa, Panna Rittikrai, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, IKO UWAIS, Donnie Yen, Jean-Claude Van Dam to star in multiple roles in a 2 or more hour epic mix martial arts movie, there own personal styles, adapting to other styles while using it with their own styles, not to see what is better, but for a no cgi no wires no stunt double hardcore multimillion or billion dollar franchise high stakes veriety blowout showcasing many arts of the martial arts movie(s) of all time! who would u vote for? I vote for all! or maybe im just a crazy superfanatical of martial arts or whatever u call it. i know i talk too much, or technically type too much.

“totally losing all credibility after the muddled, nonsensical messes that Ong-Bak 2 and 3 ended up being”

You’re an idiot. These were good movies. Ong-Bak 2 was great, 3 was OK

    1. 5.1

You really, deep in your heart, believe Ong Bak 3 was even ‘ok’? You are clearly in the minority on this one man.  Compare it to all other Jaa films and it is a miserable movie

      Chris McKittrick

Not yet, Kamal! A clip of the film screened at the Cannes Film Festival, but no Thai or American release date has been set yet. We’re waiting as much as you are… we love Tony Jaa movies here!

    did it cancel or something?

    1. 9.1

      Chris McKittrick

As far as we know it isn’t canceled, but it’s nowhere close to done. There was a screening of some clips at this year’s Cannes, but in June it was reported that there would be major reshoots (possibly reshooting the whole film). That’s all we know. When the teaser poster was released it didn’t even list the year on it, so I imagine it wouldn’t be unrealistic to not see this until 2014.

Not the answer I’m sure you were looking for, but it is what it is.
