Awhile back I did a story about Rob Zombie‘s next film, Lords of Salem, and provided a picture with really no description. At that time we really didn’t know what to expect from the film besides that it would involve four witches that were killed during the Salem Witch trials and are now back for revenge.
We finally have a detailed plot synopsis for the film and what we can expect from Zombie’s next horror film.
Heidi, a blond rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the “Big H Radio Team.”
A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, a gift of the Lords. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lord’s record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.
Later, Whitey plays the Lord’s record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with his listeners.
The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon, Heidi and her cohorts are far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting. The original Lords of Salem are returning and they’re out for blood.
If you seem a little confused and feel like this is not what you had in mind for the film, then you are not alone. I’m not going to bash the film based on a plot summary because it could have potential. Until I see a trailer, I will remain opinion-less.
I don’t know how I feel about Zombie’s films in general. It seems like they are either really amazing and very entertaining ( The Devil’s Rejects and Halloween) or they are complete garbage and/or should have never of been made ( House of 1000 Corpses and Halloween 2). I’m hoping for the best and that when a trailer becomes available, it really sells this film.
