It’s not often that a director will remake his own film, but when he does we should hope for the same great film that we got the first time around. Well it looks like Georgian-French director, Géla Babluani, has stuck to his original formula with a simple change in language and cast for his neo-noir film 13, originally known as 13 Tzameti in France.
Let’s skip all the crap and get right down to the important aspects that make up this movie so that you can watch the trailer and get fired up for its release.
Here is what the film has: Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, 50 Cent and the most sadistic and suspenseful form of gambling to hit the screen in a while, Russian Roulette!
This film has enough testosterone driven moments to make Ronnie Coleman explode while yelling “YEAH BUDDY! That was an awesome trailer!” If it can make Ronnie happy, it can make you happy so check it out after the jump.
One thing to keep in mind is that the original film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival for Dramatic World Cinema so the story has proven itself already to some US audience members. Will it do it again with the rest of the members? I think so.
Here is the plot as told by IMDB: A naive young man assumes a dead man’s identity and finds himself embroiled in an underground world of power, violence, and chance where men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of other men.
