Do you love The Hangover? Do you love senior citizens? Well if so, get excited because Jon Turteltaub is likely to direct the long-in-development film, Last Vegas.
The film was first announced by CBS films back in 2009 but nothing much ever came from that announcement. The screenplay was written by Crazy,Stupid,Love writer Dan Fogelman and is being produced by Larry Mark and Mandate Pictures.
What we do know about the film, which is very little, is that it will follow four male childhood friends who reunite in Vegas to marry off the playboy of the group Billy. Conflict arrives when Billy and Paddy, the widow of the group, fall for the affection of the same lounge singer. No cast members have been announced yet but look for it to be a cast of actors in their mid 50-60’s.
It has been rumored that Nicolas Cage might be in the running for one of the roles in the film since he and Turteltaub have a long work history together with National Treasure.
If/when Turteltaub officially signs on, we can expect the cast to start falling in place shortly after. Since the film has been in development since 2009, one would have to assume Mandate pictures has an idea of who they want to pursue for the roles.
