From the comic book writer who brought you The Ultimate Avengers and Wanted, Mark Miller’s latest comic book adaptation, Kick-Ass, is soon to take the world by storm. The first teaser trailer for the Comic Con Phenomenon has just been uploaded and its looking fantastic. You can read about the plot and watch the Kick-Ass trailer after the jump.
From Director Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) comes the an awesome superhero movie about people without superpowers. The movie is being hailed by some as the best superhero movie ever made! At least that’s what they are saying over at /film. Either way I cannot wait for Lionsgate to release this next year. I am going to do everyhting in my power to get into an advanced screening of the movie just so I can tell people how much it actually does ‘Kick-Ass.’ Before watching the trailer there is one disclaimer that I’ve seen people make about the trailer: While the trailer is an accurate representation of the movie, it also is not. This movie is pretty hard core and so you won’t get the full effect of the movie until a red band trailer is released (which would be awesome). So for now we can take in everything that was allowed in the green band until the moment a glorious red band hits the net.
With a few fun actors such as Nicholas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (the guy who played McLovin in Superbad) this movie definitely has some great potential at this point in time.
So check out the trailer and synopsis below and prepare yourself for an ass-stomping ride.
As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).
The movie’s expected release date it April 16, 2010.
