Here is my video review for Invictus, the fantastic story of the unification of the Republic of South Africa through the use of rugby. The movie stars Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar and is directed by the always great Clint Eastwood I highly recommend this movie but definitely check out my review to get a feel for what you are in for. The review, trailer, poem and more after the jump.
There is a solid amount of content in this review which is why it is almost 6 minutes. My battery died about four times while trying to film it resulting in my other versions messing up which is why it became slightly longer, and me going to bed later than I wanted to. In the end the review worked out and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the watching the movie and then talking about my favorite sport, rugby. Enjoy the review!
Invictus by William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
