Movie Buzzers continues to keep an eye on the filming of My Week with Marilyn across the pond. The movie stars current Golden Globe nominee Michelle Williams (Blue Valentine) as the legendary sex-symbol, Marilyn Monroe. The project is making headlines because of Williams’ impressive and spot-on transformation into the starlet. Check out the latest photos after the jump!
ShockYa.com recently revealed two shots. One is of Emma Watson, nine year veteran of the Harry Potter franchise, in her first role outside of the series. She plays Lucy, a costume assistant during the filming of The Prince and The Showgirl, which starred Monroe and Sir Laurence Olivier (played by Kenneth Branaugh) in 1957. Lucy is also the love interest for Eddie Redmayne’s character, Colin Clark. The story is told in Clark’s point of view, and he is Olivier’s assistant.
The second photo is of Williams, dressed in character, standing beside Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives), who plays Monroe’s third husband, playwright Arthur Miller. Click here and here for set photos.
Here we can see the striking similarities in a real-life image of Monroe and Miller during their marriage below:
As soon as more of these enticing pictures emerge, Movie Buzzers will continue to post them. There is still no release date yet for the project, but perhaps soon we can catch a glimpse of Branaugh as Olivier and Julia Ormond dressed as Gone with the Wind heroine Vivien Leigh any day now.
Do you think Williams matches up with Monroe? Do these images make you want to see the film?
