Yesterday was the highly anticipated Twitter conference for Marvel’s The Avengers. Unfortunatly the entire cast was’t available but we did get director Joss Whedon, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston for about 40 minutes. After the tweeting was over Marvel gave us a look at the infamous trailer teaser for a its Super Bowl Ad, which you can check out after the recap.
Before we start, lets meet the cast and director:
Joss Whedon (left) and Clark Gregg (right)
Samuel L. Jackson
Tom Hiddleston
All the questions asked during the Q&A were submitted by fans via twitter so as I expected, there were very few well thought out questions and they didn’t help us learn much. However, there were a few that did shed a little light on a few rumors and were a bit comedic. I have posted the most interesting ones below, sadly none of my questions were answered. Here we go
- [SPOILERISH]Joss was asked about the rumored Spider-Man cameo that has recently surfaced, his response ” There is no Spider-Man Cameo, but The Avengers do turn off the dark” [END SPOILERISH]
- Samuel Jackson was asked who his first favorite superhero was and shockingly it was DC Comics very own The Flash.
- An interesting question was asked to Joss about whether or not one would need to see the prior Marvel films to understand what’s going on in The Avengers, his response, “You don’t need to see any Marvel movies to enjoy The Avengers, but you need to see Steel Magnolia, like six times”
- It took Tom about forty-five minutes to an hour each day to get into the Loki costume
- When asked if Loki was looking for revenge in the film Tom Hiddleston had the following response, “He doesn’t want revenge so much as identity, belonging, purpose, self-esteem, through delusional dreams”
- When asked if the females in the film have to remind the boys how strong they are, Joss had this sarcastic response which was funny, ” The females will spend their time whimpering and baking and being befuddled by math“
- Clark Gregg’s final tweet was the following, ” Meeting some skull friends for lunch. Thanks for all the support! Coulson out!” Now this means nothing since we already know the Skrull are not in this film, but why do they keep teasing us with comments like this!?!?!?
- Tom Hiddleston came back on and left this final message after the link for the trailer was given, ” By the way… IN THE END, IT WILL BE EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF!” Very interesting line to sit and ponder about.
So there you have it The Avengers Twitter conference was a success for the most part, wish a few more serious questions were asked, but there is always next time. As promised, here is the ten second teaser for the trailer that will air during the Super Bowl. If you pause it just right you can see Loki riding on those flying things.
