Although this is sooo yesterday’s news I have to comment on it. Chris Evans, you know the guy from The Fantastic Four (Human Tourch), Push, and the upcoming The Losers, will be playing the lead role in The First Avenger: Captain America.
The movie will be directed by Joe Johnston (Hidalgo, Jumanji, The Wolfman) who I deeply respect for his past works. I think this movie has a lot of potential and I don’t think Marvel will allow anyone to fuck this up which is why the casting has been so crucial in the pre production process.
Other potential Captain America’s included John Krasinski (The Office),
Mike Vogel (Cloverfield), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and a few others. Now that Evans has been chosen and accepted, I know this movie is going to be a lot of fun since we know from experience that he can bring both humor and action to the screen with some pretty good acting.
Now it is Johnston’s turn to direct Evans, Keira Knightly (rumored), and Hugo Weaving (playing the Red Skull) in one of the most anticipated superhero movies to come.
Keep an eye out for more news in the future.
