About a week ago, Kevin Smith (Clerks) unexpectedly released the first official trailer and some posters for his debut horror film, Red State, one of the many films making its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later in January. Smith has been keeping a tight lid on the film but has stated that he doesn’t plan on doing any press for it, will be auctioning off the rights for it at Sundance, and is hoping to release the film sometime in March.
Red State stars John Goodman (The Big Lebowski), Kyle Gallner (Jennifer’s Body), Michael Angarano (The Forbidden Kingdom), Stephen Root (True Blood), Kevin Pollak (Cop Out), Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Ralph Garman (Family Guy) and Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad).
