Back in October, Movie Buzzers reported on the upcoming production of Grace of Monaco, a film which follows the post-Hollywood life of Oscar-winning actress Grace Kelly, star of such classics like To Catch A Thief, Rear Window, and The Country Girl.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole) is in talks to take on the lead role. IMDB describes the film which follows Kelly’s “involvement with Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle dispute over tax laws in the early 1960s.”
Rumors are swirling that the movie takes on the same momentum which made The King’s Speech a success, including Kelly’s behind-the-scenes plotting as a new princess in saving Monaco from a coup.
The film is directed by Olivier Dahan (La Vie En Rose) and written by Arash Amel (The Expatriate). The movie is set for a 2014 release, but there has been no other casting news attached to the project. Even though Kidman received an Oscar nomination for Rabbit Hole, the actress hasn’t seen much success on the big screen, especially having kept under the radar with a cameo in Just Go With It.
Do you think Kidman can take on the incomparable Grace Kelly? Are you interested in hearing more about this anti-biopic political drama?
