Honest Abe Lincoln, our nation’s revered sixteenth president, will appear on screen in yet another motion picture, but this one is called The Green Blade Rises, according to Deadline. The Tree of Life-director Terrence Malick is helming the project which is said to star Golden Globe nominee Diane Kruger (Farewell, My Queen) as Lincoln’s stepmother.
The story focuses on “the hardships that shaped him, the tragedy that marked him forever and the two women who guided him to immortality. One is his stepmother, who becomes an influential figure for the future president.”
In addition, the film, which spans three years of Lincoln’s life in Indiana, will be shot in black and white and begin production this fall.
What do you think of all the Lincoln-centered films? Are you interested in seeing more big screen back story of Lincoln’s rise to national influence? If you didn’t already know, the action / fantasy film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter hit theaters in June, and Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln with Daniel Day-Lewis will be released in November.
