So Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter tanked at the box office, but this particular film about our 16th President will likely do far better. Since Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln opens on November 16 (with several theaters getting it a week early), we should be seeing a trailer for it any day now. Oddly, we haven’t seen any pics, let alone footage, from the anticipated film. In fact, just over three months from its opening we finally have our first official glimpse of Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln.
Of course, an amateur shutterbug took the first image of Day-Lewis while he was eating off-set, but now Entertainment Weekly has Day-Lewis in full costume looking like he’s posing for Honest Abe’s portrait on the penny.
Not only does Day-Lewis look the part, but we all know he has the acting chops to pull the role off.
In addition to Day-Lewis, the film stars Sally Field (Mary Todd Lincoln), Tommy Lee Jones (Thaddeus Stevens), David Strathairn (William H. Seward), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Robert Todd Lincoln), among many others.
