Having just experienced the [REC] series for the first time this past year during SXSW. I caught a midnight screening of [Rec] 3: Genesis and have become a fan of this franchise and the spiritual/zombie/plague awesomeness that is delivered with every film. With that being said, I am excited to announce that the sales teaser trailer for the forth and final film in the franchise is upon us.
[REC] 4: Apocalypse is directed by the series co-creator Jaume Balaguero and unlike the third film which took us to the beginning, the forth will pick up right after the second film and will follow everyone’s favorite eager TV reporter Angela Vidal and [spoiler] what happens after she makes it out of the building [end spoiler].
Some might be wondering why that is all old footage in the trailer and why there was nothing new to show. Well that’s because the film actually hasn’t begun production yet and this is just a sales trailer. However it’s a nice way to get people excited for what’s to come and we should see the film sometime in early 2014. Right now it is scheduled to make its debut during the Sitges Filmax International next year and will figure out distribution after that. [Bloody Disgusting]
Here is the official synopsis for the forth film:
Angela Vidal, the young television reporter who entered the building with the fireman, manages to make it out alive. But what the soldiers don’t know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine
