Hideo Nakata’s new thriller, The Incite Mill: 7-Day Death Game, looks like the Japanese thriller version of Clue except there is money involved for the survivors rather than a possible jail sentence. In case you didn’t know, this is the guy who brought us Ringu, the movie that The Ring is based on. I only wish this trailer had english subtitles but luckily I was able to understand what was going on thanks to nipponcinemas write-up on the film. You can check out the write-up along with the trailer after the jump.
A new full trailer has been released for Hideo Nakata‘s new psychological thriller The Incite Mill: 7-Day Death Game. This is the first actual footage that’s been publicly released, as the original teaser was made up entirely of sequenced stills set to suspenseful music.
The script is based on a best-selling novel by Honobu Yonezawa. The story involves ten people who are lured to the mysterious “Anki Mansion” by help wanted ads offering 112,000 yen per hour (about $1,200 USD). Participants are informed that they’ll be recorded 24 hours a day and are given two ominous rules: first, each of them must return to their private room by 10pm each night; and second, the experiment would continue either for 7 days or until there are only two survivors left. If all went according to plan, the participants would go home after 7 days, earning a total of 18 million yen. However, on the second day, one of them is shot to death.
Warner Bros will be releasing “The Incite Mill: 7-Day Death Game” in Japan on October 16, 2010.
