With Halloween just around the corner, MGM and Screen Gems wanted to give us a bit of a treat with the first look at Kimberly Peirce‘s remake of Stephen King’s novel Carrie. The footage was shown this past weekend during NYCC and I guess it went off so well that MGM wanted the rest of the world to see the teaser. Check it out below!
The teaser drops us right into one of the most iconic scenes in horror film history and a traumatized Carrie (Chloe Grace Moretz) after experiencing one of the worst High School proms one could imagine.
Sadly we didn’t get to see Julienne Moore as Carrie’s religious nut job mom which was a bit of a let down, however for a teaser, I felt the trailer delivered and has raised my interest in the film. Now will it hold up to the original film, that’s the million dollar question! I see the film doing well although March is never really a great month for films, so we shall see.
Carrie is set to burn down theaters March 15, 2013.
