It should be noted that toy companies are usually the biggest spoilers for films than journalist or spies. Usually it is unintentional and they don’t realize this when they release toys for upcoming films but those toys usually tell us something we didn’t know about a film. Take The Avengers toys for example, those figurines for the board game gave us our first look at the Chitauri and revealed that they would not be Skrulls after many believed they were.
Today we have our first look at some of the toys that will be hitting the marketplace for Marvel’s next film Iron Man 3, which hits theaters this summer. While these toys don’t really spoil anything significant, there are a pair of shirts that shed some light onto some aspects of the film.
Idle Hands stumbled across these toys which claim to be mimicking scenes from the actual film, so take that as you will and consider this stuff a bit spoilerish.
This first toy comes from Hasbro and is what they are calling the Iron Assemblers Battle Vehicle. You will notice that the front of the car raises up so that Iron Man can shoot out from the front out of the car. On the back of the box, this is where we learn that this mimics a scene from the film. It seems like we know which car will now be featured in the film and will somehow allow Tony to change into his Iron Man suit and launch out the front of it. Will this be before or after the Extremis virus is in his system? We will have to wait and find out.
ALL IMAGES HAVE BEEN REMOVED
This next toy looks very basic and bets are that it comes from Hasbro as well. It looks as if this suit is one of the early Mark versions or perhaps the first Mark I suit Tony made once he made it back home. Nothing too exciting or spoilerish here since there is no packaging, but the guys at Idle Hands think that maybe Tony is forced to revert back to his original suit at some point in the film. Maybe this will happen after the others are destroyed, which is implied in the trailer.
Finally we have two T-shirts that have now just made my “must have” list. These shirts come from a company called Titan Merchandise and while they might not be related specifically to Iron Man 3, the recent release and the fact that they feature IronWorks and A.I.M are something to take note of. During SDCC this year, Marvel gave out limited edition A.I.M T-shirts at their booth (still mad I missed out on these) so we know that A.I.M will play a role in the film.
