Little by little Wes Anderson has built a fanbase that can’t get enough of his atmospheric films. As a result, Anderson’s films have begun to feel like “event pictures for the art house community. There are obviously a number of actors who believe in Anderson as a filmmaker and enjoy working with him, because he has a lengthy list of collaborators who repeatedly appear in his movies. In fact, his next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, is a virtual “all-star” reunion of Anderson’s actors, among a number of acclaimed Anderson newcomers (some of whom will surely join his club). In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Anderson revealed the complete list.
The following actors will be returning to Anderson’s world:
Bob Balaban (Moonrise Kingdom)
Tilda Swinton (Moonrise Kingdom)
Jeff Goldblum (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou)
Willem Dafoe (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Fantastic Mr. Fox)
Adrien Brody (The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox)
Edward Norton (Moonrise Kingdom)
Harvey Keitel (Moonrise Kingdom)
Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom)
…and of course, Bill Murray (Rushmore, The Royal Tenebaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom)
Anderson also mentions that he “thinks” longtime collaborator Owen Wilson (Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenebaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Fantastic Mr. Fox) will have a “little part” too.
As for the newcomers, that list is equally impressive:
Ralph Fiennes
F. Murray Abraham
Jude Law
Saorise Ronan
Mathieu Amalric
Very exciting… but don’t get too excited yet! After all, The Grand Budapest Hotel is set for a December 26, 2014 release.
