Well now that Football is finally over and people have stopped talking about the power outage during the game, it’s about time we take a look at the real reason many watched the Super Bowl, the movie trailers!
Last week we ran an article talking about the studios and if it was worth it, financially speaking, to show these trailers during the Super Bowl. You can check that piece out here. The trailers that were shown, in case you missed them were for World War Z, Star Trek Into Darkness, Iron Man 3, OZ The Great and Powerful, The Lone Ranger and Fast and Furious 6. I will say 3 out of the 6 made a huge impact while the other three were very lack luster. The 3 films that had everyone at the Super Bowl party I attended talking were, The Lone Ranger, Star Trek and Fast 6, with Fast and the Furious 6 being the hands down favorite of the night. The worst trailer was a tie between World War Z and Iron Man 3.
Let me explain the Iron Man 3 comment before we get to the trailers. The reason people were upset with the “trailer” was because it showed absolutely nothing and then told you to go to their Facebook page to see the extended trailer. Many people didn’t like this idea and were excited to hopefully see a bad ass trailer only to be let down drastically. I understand Disney didn’t want to spend around $12 million to show the extended trailer, however it would have been nice to see it at the time.
Anyway, here are the trailers from the Super Bowl, I have switched the Iron Man 3 with the extended version, you will thank me later.
