If there was one film that I’m eager to see but keep forgetting about its the upcoming adaptation of the comic book series, R.I.P.D from the director of Red, Robert Schwentke. The film stars Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds as dead lawman who protect the living from dead people who simply just don’t want to move on to the afterlife.
Below is the first trailer for the film which debuted online yesterday and it very much has a Men in Black feel to it with the exception of Jeff Bridges looking and acting like a cool and charismatic sheriff from the 1800s instead of a quiet and angry Tommy Lee Jones. I think the movie looks pretty fun and since I loved Red I’m certainly willing to give this one a chance, especially since Red was a pleasant surprise of a hit when it came out.
R.I.P.D. also co-stars Kevin Bacon, Mary Louise Parker, and Robert Nepper and is set to opens on July 19th. Check out the trailer and synopsis below and let us know what you think.
Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline the 3D supernatural action-adventure R.I.P.D. as two cops dispatched by the otherworldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of souls who refuse to move peacefully to the other side.
