He’s Back: Schwarzenegger Confirms Return to Movies

“Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today.”

For action movie fans, these are probably the most exciting words ever written. Those above words appeared via Twitter from the former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, confirming what most thought to be inevitable — the former box office champion is ready for a Hollywood comeback. Sure, we’ve seen him here and there in various cameos — such as in last summer’s The Expendables with friends and fellow action movie icons Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis — but Arnold hasn’t starred in a movie since 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Of course, mainly because of his cameo in The Expendables, many fans are waiting for the announcement that Scwarzenegger will appear in a larger role in the sequel, which is currently in pre-production. However, in the few weeks since he’s left the governor office there have been other rumors of possible roles. In January Bleeding Cool reported that Schwarzenegger was considering to star in With Wings As Eagles, about an older Nazi soldier who goes against orders when he is commanded to kill a group of children at the end of World War II. The script, written by Randall Wallace (Braveheart) is based on a true story.
