One of the most exciting aspects of NYCC is the plethora of cool art that you can buy at the convention. It has a terrific artist alley where you can discover new artists and pick up work from your favorites as well, but this year don’t forget to check out some of the booths that will be showcasing great work s well, specifically the Bottleneck Gallery booth #2167.
This will be the first year Bottleneck is attending the Con but they are coming in guns a blazing, bringing work from artists like Bruce Yan, Craig Drake, Laurent Durieux, Marko Manev, Matt Ferguson, Randy Ortiz, Timothy Pittides, Florey, Raid71, JP Valderrama and many more.
To help kick off their official preview week, we were able to score the exclusive official reveal for one of their prints from artist Justin Van Genderen and it just so happens to be a print from one of my favorite sci-fi films of all time, Children of Men (see below, click to embiggen).
Talk about a beautiful print. I think my favorite part is that it doesn’t look like a movie print at all, more of a scenic advertisement or postcard to visit the city of London which gives it that universal appeal that some other pop culture art doesn’t have, especially when you plan on hanging it in your home. They will allocating a certain amount of prints for each day of the con, allowing everyone an opportunity to snag one on the day(s) they can actually attend. The rest of the details on the print can be found below.
Run: 75
Size: 18 x 24
Print type: Screen Print
Price: $40
Artist: Justin Van Genderen
Keep in mind, this is just one of roughly 20 prints they will be releasing over the course of the convention. There are a couple of previews floating around of some of their other pieces but check back here later this week for more information on their NYCC releases when more of their prints are revealed for all to drool over.
