Briefly: Yesterday, director Doug Ellin tweeted “It’s a go. love you all.” making it official that the Entourage movie is a go.
There had been some issues with regards to money for some of the cast members of the core group but all of that has been resolved and actors Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Connolly have now signed on and the deals have been closed.
Jeremy Piven had sealed his deal back in August and I’m sure any of the other supporting characters from the series that are actually relevant are secured as well. God knows I haven’t seen them doing much work outside of television so they should also be a lock.
The film is set to start shooting in California this January. I suspect we’ll get to see the film come November or December of 2014 unless this $30 million dollar film manages to be much more complex, production-wise, then the show itself, which is doubtful.
My real question is, does anybody care? The show’s been done for so long and nobody seems to talk about it anymore, it doesn’t have that same action appeal that a 24 film would have in my opinion. Let us know what you think of the news below.
