To say 21 Jump Street was a surprise hit is an understatement. That film was probably one of the funniest of 2012 and it also turned me into a Channing Tatum fan. The guy was able to shed his macho persona and dive head first into comedy and parody, finding ways to rip on himself in order to deliver tons of great laughs alongside Jonah Hill. The movie did so well that a sequel was given the green light and today the first trailer, a red-band trailer in fact, for 22 Jump Street, has hit the net and it is full of some great laughs, promising a sequel that may actually live up the hilarity of the reboot.
Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller return to helm the film in which officers Schmidt and Jenko are sent off to college rather than high school. As you can imagine, this is going to be a drunken college comedy with a police investigation as the backdrop which should hopefully provide some great laughs even if there are a ton of movie clichés to target the film’s jokes at.
Without spoiling the greatness of the trailer just press play and prepare to chuckle a lot throughout. 22 Jump Street is set to hit theaters on June 13, 2014.
After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt and Jenko when they go deep undercover at a local college.
