Making the jump from TV to feature film, Jeremy Lovering‘s 2013 Sundance thriller, In Fear, is finally getting a release here in the states after just over a year of patiently waiting. While I personally had never heard of it until now, word has it that the film is actually pretty effective and since I love thrillers, especially back woods ones where there are only a handful of characters, this should be a film that I eat up.
In Fear only has three actors, Iain De Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Allen Leech (Downtown Abbey), and Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures), which means the performances have to be good for us to enjoy it otherwise it’s just a possibly good story wasted by it’s actors. Thankfully, judging by the quotes on the poster, this doesn’t seem to be the case, but you could watch the trailer and get some visual proof that this is all true.
The trailer is interesting and ideal for fans of dark thrillers so check it out below along with the plot synopsis and keep it on your radar if you think it’s something you’d like to see.
While young couple Tom and Lucy are driving to a festival in the remote Irish countryside they leave the main highway to look for their hotel and quickly lose their way along the back-roads. Lost and tormented as night falls, Tom and Lucy’s primal anxieties of the dark and the unknown start to take hold. When the couple discovers they are not alone, they realize that their worst fears lay in the road ahead.
Anchor Bay will be releasing In Fear on March 7th in limited theaters and then it will hit VOD and home entertainment shelves on March 11th.
