Well, for those of us that didn’t attend SDCC last year we are finally getting our first look at footage for James Gunn’s upcoming action adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy. For those of you that have been living under a rock, this is Marvel’s interstellar Avenger related title that helps set up Age of Ultron and introduces us to some new characters that most people aren’t familiar with and, as such, this trailer does a nice job introducing these new characters to us, literally.
The film is jam packed with talent andh stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and features John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector (who you saw at the end of Thor 2)
The trailer is a lot of fun and you can tell that there are going to be a lot of laughs and a ton of action, playing to the strengths of Gunn’s talents while also clearly following in the steps of Joss Whedon and his approach to The Avengers. I just can’t tell if I absolutely loved or hated the use of Blue Swede’s song Hooked on a Feeling at the end of the trailer. Any who, I love these kinds of movies and am pretty excited to see it when it’s released on August 1st later this year.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
