Oscar-winning Director Kathryn Bigelow has cast British actor Tom Hardy in her latest film, an adaption of the Anand Giridharadas nonfiction book, The True American.
The book is set in Texas following the events of that fateful day. Self-styled ‘Arab slayer’ Mark Stroman murdered two immigrants and attempted to kill a third, who survived after being shot in the head.
The survivor, Rais Bhuiyan, a Muslim immigrant and Bangladesh Air Force veteran then fought to have his attacker spared from execution.
Hardy has a number of upcoming projects including Mad Max: Fury Road and the Elton John biopic, Rocket Man . This will be Bigelow’s first film since the critically acclaimed Zero Dark Thirty.
