With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set to hit theaters on June 3rd, Paramount has gotten creative with their marketing and set-up something pretty freakin’ awesome. They have built a TMNT lair in a secret location in NYC and you can actually crash there with up to five other people utilizing AirBNB.com
Yesterday, I had an opportunity to do a walk through and explore the lair and, I gotta say, it made the man-child in me so happy. From the inclusion of the old school TMNT arcade system to a glow-in-the-dark basketball court to having a full blown band kit set-up complete with an amp, it was a child’s dream to see. While I may not be a fan of the first film or the look of the characters, there is something about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows that interests me. Maybe it’s all the villains or simply the inclusion of Casey Jones, but all-in-all it looks more fun than its predecessor so I’m willing to give it a shot.
I took a video tour of the space which I posted on the Movie Buzzers Facebook page, you can check it out here. I decided not to record myself playing the upcoming video game, which comes out in two weeks, but it’s certainly fun and worth giving a shot.
Below are some pics of the fantastic Turtle Lair which is free to stay in (the $10 gets reimbursed) for a night and you get a free pizza pie as well.
