Sylvester Stallone‘s next film, Headshot, was to be the first film Stallone starred in that he did not direct since 2003’s Spy Kids 3D. Wayne Kramer (Crossing Over, Running Scared, The Cooler) was set to direct the film, but according to Deadline, Kramer is now out because of disagreements with Stallone about the direction of the film.
The next question, then, is who will direct the film — Stallone could easily step in, but after signing on for Headshot and announcing that he had no intention of directing The Expendables 2 it seems that Stallone no longer has the urge to direct. In an updated post, Deadline reports that Walter Hill (48 Hours, The Warriors) is Stallone’s top choice to take over, but nothing is certain.
In Headshot Stallone stars as a New Orleans hitman who teams up with an NYPD detective seeking revenge for… well, who knows, it’ll be awesome no matter what. The script is by Alessandro Camon (The Messenger) and is based on a series of French graphic novels by Alexis Nolent and Colin Wilson.
