Joesph Gordon-Levitt has stated that he will not be returning for Jon Chu’s sequel G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. When asked if he would be reprising his role as Rex Lewis, JGL simply stated “No.” No explanation or reason why, he just said no and the conversation moved on. Now why someone would pass up the opportunity of a lifetime to work with Jon Chu baffles me, but JGL has and will focus his attention to the much smaller film he is about to begin, “The Dark Knight Rises” as John Blake.
However, for those of you who really enjoyed G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, I have some exciting news. Even though JGL won’t be in the film, it has been confirmed that Ray Park will be returning as Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes.
I’m sorry I really can’t take this film seriously. You have a guy directing that has only done dance flicks and a documentary with Justin Bieber, doing an action movie. Explain that to me? How did they studio feel that he was the right fit for this film? Not to mention they are bringing back Channing Tatum, who was the main thing people complained about in the first film. The film is already doomed for failure and it hasn’t even begun shooting yet.
JGL you made a smart move sir and I commend you for it.
