Adrianne Palicki — who was in the title role of the rejected Wonder Woman TV pilot — isn’t going to just return to a television series. She must already be bouncing back because, according to Deadline, she has been cast as Lady Jayne (AKA the other female G.I. Joe after Scarlett) in the upcoming G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. Palicki will be joining Channing Tatum (Duke), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Roadblock), Ray Park (Snake Eyes), Lee Byung-hun (Storm Shadow), Stephen Martines (Cross-Country), and the rumored RZA (Blind Master), Elodie Yung (Jinx), and D.J. Cotrona (Flint).
But who else might join the ever-increasing cast? Deadline also reports that Joe Colton, who in the series continuity is considered the original 1960s G.I. Joe, might be played by none other than Bruce Willis, whom would be quite the catch for the franchise. In fact, G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes is shaping up to have more star power than the original film.
The film will be directed by Jon Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never). The script was written by Zombieland duo Paul Wenick and Rhett Reese and is set for an August 10, 2012 3D release.
