Hollywood can have some very strange tales coming out now and again…but I’d reckon this one takes the cake. When you think of a film set, what do you consider valuable? The costumes? The sets? How about the wire? Copper wire is apparently quite the commodity in certain circles, and the crew involved with Anchorman 2 found that out firsthand.
The film is being prepped in Atlanta, a place where wire thievery is rampant, up to the point where wire has been stolen right off of utility poles. So the warehouse where the film was being prepped was broken into, and almost $300,000 worth of wire was stolen. Since it’s Anchorman 2, expect the incident to be referenced in some way–now you’ll be able to get the joke.
Stay classy, Atlanta. More news as it develops.
