Pretty much everyone was shocked when British director Edgar Wright dropped out of the Ant-Man film. Wright, who had also co-written the film with Joe Cornish, had been attached to the project for years, so it seems odd that he would just unexpectedly drop out.
Marvel Studios has since been looking for a new director and it seems they have finally found their man in the form of Peyton Reed. For those who don’t know the name his previous work includes the likes of Yes Man and The Break-up.
It’s certainly an interesting choice by Marvel Studios and you can only assume Reed has been hired to do a job more in the vein of what Marvel Studios were after than Wright perhaps wasn’t willing to do?
Not only has the film finally got its director, but a man who was previously attached to the vacant seat, Adam McKay, has been brought into the project to make some script alterations from the previously finished script.
So it seems like things are full-throttle at the moment for the Ant-Man project which is expected to be released July 17th, 2015.
