We know now that Arnold Schwartzenegger is set to reprise his famous role as the T-800 in the latest Terminator film, Terminator: Genesis. While you may have questions regarding Schwartzenegger’s status for the role, considering his age in relation to being an unstoppable machine, the action hero has come out to reveal how his age will be explained.
“The way that the character is written, it’s a machine underneath. It’s this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator’s flesh ages, just like any other human being’s flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages.”
So Terminators ages, well, on the outside anyway. That actually sounds like it could work. It might still be a challenge to pull off the action stunts given his age of 66-years, but it’s still great news to see Arnie back in the role that helped him hit the big time. Terminator: Genesis is set to star Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese as well as J.K Simmons as a detective who has been following the original Terminator case for the last 30 years.
Genesis is set to be a reboot of some kind rather than following on from Christian Bale‘s outing as John Connor in Terminator: Salvation, and will have Thor: The Dark World director, Alan Taylor at the helm. It’s set to begin production in April, set for a July 2015 release.
