Yesterday, the official poster and trailer for the upcoming Thai martial arts revenge movie, Bangkok Revenge, was released bu China Lion. Set for a limited release here in the states on September 14, 2012, the film is directed by Jean-Marc Minéo and stars Jon Foo, Caroline Ducey and Michael Cohen. The movie is only 80 minutes but, judging from the trailer, we can expect a lot of ass kicking within that short period of time.
I’m hoping to see a showcase of glorious beat downs and a movie where plot doesn’t matter. The story sounds almost identical to Columbiana except that it’s based in Thailand. If you like action or martial arts films take a look at the trailer and lets hope that the action doesn’t fail when it comes to screening time (there’s no dialogue in the trailer so that’s all you have to go on).
Manit (Jon Foo) witnessed the murder of his parents when he was just 10 years old. The killers shot him in the head, but he miraculously survived. However, the damage to his brain left him unable to experience regular human emotions. A martial arts master saved him and took him in. Twenty years later, Manit has become a master of martial arts himself. He returns to the scene of the crime, seeking justice.
