As reported by Cosmic Book News earlier this year reported plans of a Batman movie reboot to happen in 2016. The plot is said to feature a Batman in his second year of being a hero and tentatively titled “The Batman.” However, now apparently there is more rumors floating around that Warner Bros. about this. The movie would be based on the hugely popular Batman: Arkham Asylum video game. Furthermore, maybe most important to DC fans is that it would be set in the Justice League universe opening the door for a Justice League movie down the line. It’s clear the success of Marvel has pushed DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. to choose the Justice League universe as opposed to others.
The main villain in Batman: Arkham Asylum is Joker. Which means that someone would have some huge shoes to fill, despite the movie potentially coming out almost ten years after Heath Ledger played that role. In addition to the Joker there are a ton of other major villains in the video game including Bane. The thought of Joker and Bane, along with the plot of the game which isn’t far off from one of the best Batman series, The Long Halloween gives the reboot a ton of potential.
As a huge fan of anything Batman, I’m excited all over again.
