One film that I have been looking forward to seeing since the trailer for the short film debuted is Oscar Madrid and Jim Ousley’s The Bloodfest Club. The short film is currently being tweaked and will hopefully hit the festival circuit in 2012 but as they ready that for the public, they are also working on completing the financing and casting for the full-length feature of their short.
The first bit of casting for this 80’s inspired horror/comedy was announced today and it shows that the film has a ton more promise than originally anticipated. Actors Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes-1977), and William Forsythe (Raising Arizona) have joined the cast in supporting roles. The three starred in Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects and have now been reunited for something completely different.
Moseley will star as Dr. Colin Dante, the sinister history professor in search of lost artifacts on campus. Berryman will play Sensei Noddy Donigan, the janitorial mentor who doesn’t always dispense the best advice. Forsythe will appear as Principal Donald Bircher, the no-nonsense task-master of Chatsworth Academy.
Exclusive: While it wasn’t officially announced, I’ve learned that Jim Ousley will in fact be playing Sonny Kane. I was hoping for this and think it is a perfect way to connect the trailer to the feature length version of the film. He’s got the role nailed down so it is now only a matter of time before we get to see him dressed in that ridiculous wig and defending his school.
