I awoke from my Thanksgiving sabbatical from MovieBuzzers in the mood for some Christmas cheer. No, not caroling in the snow or charity work — nothing that would make me a good person, of course! — but the Christmas cheer I was looking for came from one of the best Christmas films of the last decade: Bad Santa. Imagine how surprised I was after re-watching the Christmas comedy last night that rumors of a sequel started to stir? Click on more to find out the story!
Billy Bob Thorton, who claims to have been actually intoxicated during filming of Bad Santa (and who would really doubt that?), recently stated the following in an interview with Collider:
Bad Santa’s become like a classic Christmas movie. People watch It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th St. and Bad Santa now is sort of the box set. And there’s been talk of making a sequel to it, which I actually would like to do. I’ve never done a sequel to one of my movies, but that one makes sense to me to do it.
Of course, this gives no indication that the project will see the light of day anytime soon — if ever — but I know what’s going on my Christmas list this year. Anyone else with me? Let us know in the comments below!
