I recently took my first foray into the Japanese exploitative cult film genre at the NYAFF and was blown away by the insanity that unfolded before my eyes. I attended the International Premiere of Mutant Girls Squad, which is the second film in Sushi Typhoon’s lineup, and I got to say, it was a hysterical head trip. I’m hooked now and still can’t figure out why; I must be a little sick in the head.
The crowd was wild, two of the directors were there running around in sumo diapers getting needles stuck in their ass by two of the actresses from the film, and then I witnessed a mutant power on screen that I never thought I would see in my life, a girl with a chainsaw coming out of her butt. Let that soak in a bit then hit the jump to check out my review and more.
This awesome mess of a film was directed by Noboru Iguchi (Robogeisha), Tak Sakaguchi (Death Trance), and Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police). The movie stars Tak Sakaguchi as the squad leader in drag, Kisaragi, Yumi Sugimoto who plays the main character Rin, Yuko Takayama plays Rei, as well as Cay Izami and Asami in wild supporting roles. Now that you have a little background on the film, you should check out my movie review and watch the trailer for Mutant Girls Squad below.
P.S. this film is definitely not for everyone
