The Hollywood Reporter ran a story earlier today stating that Bradley Cooper has decided to back out of The Crow remake that has been in pre-production for what seems like an eternity now. There is a small list of possible replacements but once you read who they are, you too will probably hope the project never sees the light of day again. Remember, neither of these actors have been confirmed but have been listed as possible candidates for the role, Channing Tatum and Mark Wahlberg.
The remake is to be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo who directed 28 Weeks Later. What’s said to be a much darker and grittier telling, the new film will tell the story of Eric Draven, who returns from the grave to avenge the death of his wife. The film is a remake of the 1994 film which starred the late Brandon Lee and is based of the comic book series by James O’Barr.
As the usual reason for actors leaving a film, Cooper had a scheduling conflict with The Crow and his other film Paradise Lost.
