Cannes Trailer for Na Hong-jin’s ‘The Yellow Sea’

One of the films that will be playing at this year’s Cannes Festival is Na Hong-jin’s new flick, The Yellow Sea.  Although I’ve never his highly praised thriller, The Chaser, I’ve heard his name and have heard about this film.  The Yellow Sea has done really well in Korea and will be screening at Cannes as part of the Un Certain Regard program.

So without further ado, I present to you the synopsis and trailer for Na Hong-jin’s sophomroe effort, The Yellow Sea.

“On the Chinese side of the China-Russia-North Korea border, there is a region called Yanbian, Korean Autonomous Prefecture. This film tells the story of a man from this region, who embarks on an assassination mission to South Korea in order to pay off his mounting debts. He is only given $500 in advance and takes the job without knowing much about his target. However, before long a series of conspiracies and betrayals bring him to the realization that he has been tricked into entering a dangerous trap.”
