Yesterday, two character poster popped up for The Great Gatsby via the Warner Bros. twitter account that featured Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth DiBicki in all their 1900’s glory, the day before that we got posters of Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton. However, why would Warner Bros. only release these four and not the others? Well the answer to this riddle has been solved and the other two posters featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carrie Mulligan have just been released.
Below you will find the six character posters for The Great Gatsby. Just to bring people up to speed with this project, the film was originally set for release this month, however Warner Bros. decided to pull it off the slot and move it to May 10, 2013. With that being said, lets get this party started.
Will there be two more posters released tomorrow via Warner Bros. is anyone’s guess, but today we have what we need and wanted. These posters actually really tell a lot about the characters in the film and does a great job of depicting the type of person they are in society. It’s a shame that the film got pushed back because it was one of the more anticipated films of December, but with the stiff competition already out and scheduled to come out, it makes sense.
If you have never read the book, then what school did you go to!!!! But in case you are on the outskirts on this film/story, here is the official synopsis for The Great Gatsby:
From the uniquely imaginative mind of writer/producer/director Baz Luhrmann comes the new big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby. The filmmaker will create his own distinctive visual interpretation of the classic story, bringing the period to life in a way that has never been seen before, in a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. “The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super-rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.
