I haven’t decided yet whether X-Men: First Class or Rise of the Planet of the Apes was my favorite blockbuster movie of the summer yet, but I’m nevertheless happy to discover that according to early reports (such as this one on Bleeding Cool) that the September 9th Blu-ray/DVD release of First Class will be full of deleted scenes. X-Men: First Class has enough fun Easter Eggs and cameos that I can’t imagine what else from the X-Men universe ended up on the cutting room floor.
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have our first look at a deleted scene from the movie although it’s… rather odd. I’m hoping that the other scenes have a bit more than this, which is really only a few awkward seconds cut out of the scene when Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr visit Angel Salvadore at her go-go club. In the finished movie we saw Erik demonstrate his magnetic powers to her, but we didn’t see Charles offer a demonstration of his talents. That’s because we missed the only the thing the film needed… Michael Fassbender in a dress.
I think it was a good idea to cut this bit since it tries a bit too hard to be funny, don’t you think?
Check out the scene at EW.com and let us know what you think!
