If you love NASCAR, Halloween, and/or Terry Gilliam (Twelve Monkeys, Monty Python and the Holy Grail) then I’ve got a special treat for you. While his most recent film, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, has been going through development hell, the man has at least found a side project to work on. The filmette is entitled The Legend of Hallowdega, a halloween story surrounding the myserties of the Talladega Speedway. The film stars Justin Kirk and David Arquette with an appearance from Dale Earnhardt Jr., Darrell Waltrip and many more Nascar personalities. You can check out photos, the official synopsis and a teaser trailer after the jump.
The film is produced by AMP Energy Juice and @radical.media and will have its first chapter premiere on ESPN before the start of the AMP Energy Juice 500 located at Talladega. The entire film will be premiered on the official website, www.legendofhallowdega.com, on Halloween Sunday
Official synopsis:
The comedy, THE LEGEND OF HALLOWDEGA, explores the mysteries around Talladega Superspeedway as the host of an investigative news show (Justin Kirk) joins forces with a techno-geek paranormal expert (David Arquette) to dodge close-calls and chase crazy leads to get to the bottom of THE LEGEND OF HALLOWDEGA.
Trailer
The trailer makes it seem like this little film could be quite fun to watch. I know I will be giving it a chance even though I’m not the biggest NASCAR fan out there. What do you guys think, will Gilliam deliver the spooky/comedic goods?
