Chris Evans is going to be a very busy man over the next few months. Not only does he have Captain American 2: The Winters Soldier coming out next summer, he’s set to make his directorial debut with 1:30 Train as well as starring as the lead.
A Ron Bass script, 1:30 Train is a romance set in Manhattan as two strangers meet and spend the night together. Their own problems come into play and becomes the focal point as they explore each others lives and themselves. While he’s been a man involved mostly in action and or superhero roles, this sounds like a refreshing challenge for Evans who will surely be happy to try his hand at something a little more intimate, and it’s worth noting he was involved in the film’s previous incarnation but productions was halted.
He was obviously fond enough of the material to jump at the chance to be involved again, this time directing too when the opportunity presented itself. But he won’t get a chance to rest because as soon as his work on 1:30 Train finishes he jumps right back into his iconic role as Captain America for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, reuniting him with his old buddies Robert Downey Jr. Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson.
